HYPERDESMO WATERPROOFING AND PROTECTION

The Hyperdesmo waterproofing material of Alchimica is considered as one of the "strongest cards" for the waterproofing of a roof. After its application, a single, seamless, joint-free, high-performance and protective waterproofing membrane is formed. Let's take a closer look at the characteristics of Hyperdesmo.

MATERIAL COMPOSITION

Hyperdesmo is a low viscosity cast (or molded) single component elastic membrane. It is composed by a pure, elastomeric, hydrophobic polyurethane resin which together with special inorganic ingredients provides the product with excellent resistance to weathering, chemicals, solar radiation (see more on this here), mechanical and thermal stresses.

MATERIAL APPLICATIONS

Hyperdesmo is easily applied by roller or in special cases with a special airless spray machine. Its main application is on terraces and it is considered ideal for maintenance situations over previous layers of finished surfaces such as garbillomosaic, roof tiles and industrial flooring. Also, it can be applied to elenite and sheet metal, for protection of asphalt and EPDM membranes, for waterproofing parking lots and bridges, as well as for waterproofing on terraces and balconies.

ADVANTAGES OF THE MATERIAL

Hyperdesmo is a waterproofing material which has a high resistance over time and if the application specifications are correctly followed, it has several advantages such as:

• Very good sealing and point by point protection over the entire surface

• Excellent elasticity
• Chemical and abrasion resistance

USEFUL TIPS

Hyperdesmo, like all polyurethane-based sealants, within a relatively short period of time, exhibits the effect of chalking and discoloration (see more on the protection of polyurethane materials here). For this reason, an additional protective coating of the Hyperdesmo A500 system is recommended.

A basic requirement also for maximum performance is the installation of polyester reinforcement, if not over the entire surface (due to increased costs), at least in the vulnerable points such as the vertical elements of the roof (e.g., vents) and at the perimeter joint between the floor and the guardrail.
